Walk Description

The theme of this walk is disused reservoirs.

Starting at Shillito Wood we initially walk on open moorland where we will visit Ramsley and Barbrook reservoirs. The second half of the walk takes us through meadows and farmland leading up to the third reservoir (Crowhole) before heading back to Shillito Wood along quiet roads.

The first half of the walk is fairly flat but there are a few climbs later on.

Walks Difficulty

Leisurely - walks for reasonably fit people with at least a little country walking experience. May include unsurfaced rural paths. Walking boots and warm, waterproof clothing are recommended.

Moderate - walks for people with country walking experience and a good level of fitness. May include some steep paths and open country. Walking boots and warm, waterproof clothing are essential.

Strenuous - walks for experienced country walkers with an above average fitness level. May include hills and rough country, and may be at a brisk pace. Walking boots and warm, waterproof clothing are essential. People in doubt about their fitness should contact the organiser or leader in advance.

Please note you should wear suitable footwear and clothing for the time of year. Take waterproofs, food and water and either additional clothing for winter walks / poor weather and sun cream and extra water for summer walks. The walk leader can refuse anyone who they do not feel is able or prepared for the walk.
