Walk Description

A circular walk exploring the Baslow and Chatsworth region.

The walk involves a long climb out of Baslow and one steep scramble and descent on Birchen Edge if we so choose.

It is unreccied by myself but I am sure it will be fun. We can always end with a drink or tea or food at the pub on our return!.

I believe the car park next to the Robin Hood Inn is free however please bring some cash in case it is pay and display.

Ensure you bring appropriate gear as there are hills, likely to be mud and could be slippery at points.

Walks Difficulty

Leisurely - walks for reasonably fit people with at least a little country walking experience. May include unsurfaced rural paths. Walking boots and warm, waterproof clothing are recommended.

Moderate - walks for people with country walking experience and a good level of fitness. May include some steep paths and open country. Walking boots and warm, waterproof clothing are essential.

Strenuous - walks for experienced country walkers with an above average fitness level. May include hills and rough country, and may be at a brisk pace. Walking boots and warm, waterproof clothing are essential. People in doubt about their fitness should contact the organiser or leader in advance.

Please note you should wear suitable footwear and clothing for the time of year. Take waterproofs, food and water and either additional clothing for winter walks / poor weather and sun cream and extra water for summer walks. The walk leader can refuse anyone who they do not feel is able or prepared for the walk.
